MCC Budget 2025 26 focuses on waste management

The delay is mainly due to the lack of a dedicated waste management system.

  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
  • Conserved natural resources
  • Reduced waste disposal costs
  • Increased energy security
  • Establishing a Waste-to-Energy Unit

The MCC Budget for 2025-26 has proposed the establishment of a unit to convert waste into energy. This unit will be equipped with the necessary technology and infrastructure to handle the city’s waste efficiently.

The MCC will also provide training and capacity building programs for the waste management sector.

  • Improved waste segregation and recycling rates
  • Reduced waste sent to landfills
  • Increased revenue generation through the sale of recyclable materials
  • Creation of jobs and employment opportunities
  • Enhanced public health and environmental benefits
  • Procurement of Windrow Turners

The MCC has also announced plans to procure windrow turners for waste composting. These machines will be used to turn and aerate waste piles, allowing for faster decomposition and reducing odors and pests.
